STOCKING STUFFERS for SENIORS
You can spread some Christmas cheer this holiday season by helping Buckingham School collect Stocking Stuffers for Seniors.
Stocking Stuffers for Seniors partners with local care homes and charities with a mission to bring more holiday cheer to seniors, in all the communities we serve. This unique drive gives Buckingham families a chance to receive a special Stocking Stuffer Tag for a senior. Your card will specify the seniors name and a wish list of items they would like. You then buy that senior a “stocking stuffer”. Your unwrapped gifts can be dropped off in the school’s front foyer in our bin any time before December 13th with the tag attached to your gift. What a wonderful way to share the joy of the season and bring extra holiday cheer to seniors across our communities!
If you would like your child to bring home a Stocking Stuffer Tag for a Senior, please email Mrs. Anania at: maria.anania@burnabyschools.ca or come by the office to get your tag.
FOOD & BOARD GAME DRIVE
This year we have been asked to help a local Elementary School in our community by doing a FOOD and BOARD GAMES drive. As a school staff we thought it was an excellent way for us to teach our students to care for others right in our own city.
Starting December 1st and going until December 15th we will be collecting food and unwrapped board/card games. We will have a box next to the Christmas Tree in the main foyer. We will also have a donation bin at the “I AM A SMALL PART OF THE WORLD” concert Thursday, December 14th.
Any nonperishable food items will be gladly accepted. However, some suggestions are as follows:
- rice
- canned meat (spam, ham, chicken, tuna, salmon)
- canned stew and soups
- canned beans
- dried lentils
- canned vegetables
- canned fruit
- boxed milk (oat, almond, soy)
- juice
Thank you for your support!
